Uh Oh

I was "doing math homework" this whole Saturday! How lame. I really can't bear math though; learning polar stuff is just so useless for me and makes me upset.

Anyways, so now that I finished/gave up on the rest of the week's homework that I had pushed back for this weekend, I decided I'd read the first chapter of our Lit parallel reading, The Poisonwood Bible. However...I realize now that I've only gotten through the foreword. And then I realized I've recently been reading the foreword for all the books I read. And before, I never read those things. My mindset was to just skip the part before the actual story.

Does that mean I'm growing up? Becoming...oh no...more MATURE?! If so...gross! I wanna be young always, and then just die randomly. Sigh. Oh well. Haha.

Rain and Bows

If I just lay here,

would you lie with me and just forget the world?

:)

The sun is shining and the tree branches wave in the slight breeze, alternating the patterns of light that glow through the window into my room where I am typing this entry! Ahaha.

I need to go outside now and talk to some trees so that they might give me my Pipa. I hope Lilac doesn't toss her out and become responsible for my death after I waste away from a broken heart. Oh my. Then again, Lilac isn't some mean older brother or anything, so I think I'm safe for now.

Anyways, I've spent the whole day downloading music onto iTunes. I don't really have anything to say right now.

Except that I love rain and bows. And I hope you do too.

Nothing To Say

The title says it all...bahahahahahahaha.

No biggie. No biggie at-all. Hehee. I'm pretty sure I had a weird dream last night, but then again, don't I always? I don't remember, though. That is my life.

Pralines are puzzlingly delicious. I don't like super-sweet stuff, and pralines really taste as though they are all sugar, but then they dissolve in your mouth and leave behind a honeyed flavor mixed with pecans. And then I love it. Yummy.

I'm also very sulky when I don't get what I want. I suppose it's due to my self-absorbed nature. Maybe you can see it; maybe you can't. But I really am very self-centered, and I try not to be...but I am. Haha.

I just finished reading the Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass. Oh, I DO have something to say. Slavery and racism and prejudice and discrimination are all so despicable on every level. If you didn't already know this, I am one of those people who get offended by even the slightest intimation of a racist comment, even if it is a complete joke. I guess you could call it "being uptight." But I disagree...the fact that we still even have Mexican jokes and Asian stereotypes and generalizations about this and that and him and her just goes to prove how prevalent this sort of stuff still is in our mindset.

Will it ever end? I know you are probably saying, "no, it's human nature." But why close yourself off to the possibilities? Sure, it seems impossible that anything like it could ever happen or that the world could ever even come close to ending prejudice or war or anything of the sort. I know. I doubt any of that will ever happen too...but here's hoping.

To the end of war,
To the end of prejudice,
To the end of starvation,
To the end of broken hearts,
To the end of hopelessness and despair.

Let's leave them behind,
Let's not care what people think,
Let's reach for the highest heights,
Let's laugh and cry out of happiness,
Let's let love overflow our hearts and pour out
of
our
eyes.mouth.hands.

Let's smile and spread the word about the "impossible"
the secret that no one seems to know
that
it
is
possible.

Anything is possible. Or else how could we be where we are now? I'm pretty sure cavemen didn't even conceive that such things as atomic bombs and iPods would ever exist. It was so impossible that it wasn't even an idea. People who read this (if anyone besides me does hahahahahahhahaha) may shake their heads now and roll their eyes, but I know that when you let God in, you let love in. And isn't that all that matters?

Haha, this is getting a bit saccharine. As sweet as a praline! I think this entry is getting all dramatic-sounding, probably because I'm listening to very chill music that is putting me in that "oooh, I'm coming up with the meaning of life!" mode.

Peaceee. Hehe I'm a Southern belle with a thug by my side. That means life is goooood.

Singin' in the Rain

That is all.

C:

Black and Yellow

So, whenever I hear that song come on, I just want to jump up and drop everything I'm doing and dance around wildly. Doing African dances. Yah know. Bahahahahahahaha. Anyways...

but the thing is, when you think about it, you're just kinda amazed that you are able to listen to songs with such dumb and sometimes very profane lyrics. But the tune just takes you away, and you want to partayyyyyyyyyy. Hehe.

Oh by the way, I looked up "bumblebee" online to find a picture, and the search on Google Images only came up with cars...

But yes. I remember when "Black and Yellow" first came out, I was really excited because I thought it was going to be a song about black and Asian people uniting and being awesome together mwahahahahaha but then I looked up the lyrics, which were a little something like this...

"Yeah, uh huh, you know what it is
Black and yellow, black and yellow
Black and yellow, black and yellow

Yeah uh huh, you know what it is
everything I do, I do it big

Yeah uh huh, screaming thats nothin
when I pulled out of the lot, thats stuntin
reppin my town when you see me you know everything
Black and yellow, black and yellow
Black and yellow, black and yellow

I put it down from my whip to my diamonds
Black and yellow, black and yellow
Black and yellow, black and yellow
Black and yellow, black and yellow

Uh, black stripe, yellow paint... "

Well, alright then I guess? How pointless. So I dunno what I'm trying to say right now, but it's just interesting how when you're at a party, you don't even think about the lyrics and just yell them out. But then later you realize just how dreadful the words are. Which is why, even though I still have tons of pop and hiphop on my iPod, I'm starting to lean towards mellower music.

For example, Vanessa Carlton and Owl City and Brendan James and Regina Spektor and Lenka and Florence + The Machine.
I mean, I still have Lonely Island and Ke$ha and Taio Cruz. But yah know.
And remember, they're called song artists because they are supposed to be making art...with SONG. HAHA. Ahem.

One of my favorites? "More Than This" by Vanessa Carlton.

"Cradling stones hold fire bright
As crickets call out to the moonlight
As you lean in to steal a kiss
I'll never need more than this

We all share the pain of our histories
But the ache goes away if you could see
This night under stars, well, I call it peace
If you say, I'll never need more than this

The trees grow so thick
You can barely see through
But the forest bestows the simplest of truths
You think you'll be happy if granted one more wish
But the truth is you'll never need more,
You'll never need more
You'll never need more than this."

Now tell me that isn't art.

Word of the Day

Here's a brilliant word I came up with on my Christmas break trip.

You may use it, but credits to me HAHA.

photogasm: (n) the overwhelming feeling of excitement that a photographer gets when faced with a "Kodak" moment

complete brilliance. heheheee.

Sigh...I've always wanted to see the Aurora Borealis. I will one day.

Facebook

I think I've wasted most of my life on Facebook. That is so pitiful. It's all Mark Zuckerberg's fault. There's the brains behind it himself.

There are some brilliant Facebook groups though. Some of my favorites:

Don't worry, there's always other fish in the sea...oh wait, BP killed them all.

Imma be, Imma be, Imma imma imma be...jk I'm a wasp.

Anyways, the groups really sum up random aspects of our lives. I love it.

I Love Harry Potter.

If only I could go to Hogwarts. Life would be fantastic. Bahahahahahaha.

I think I'd be in Gryffindor or Ravenclaw. Maybe Slytherin? Just not Hufflepuff. Chuckle.

There are so many Muggles.

Hohohohoho. Laughlaughlaugh.

If I was part of the Wizarding World, I'd be Luna Lovegood. Except Asian. Hehee.

OH Hello World!

Well, hiiii guys. Heheheehehe. So I have only done one entry thus far, and that was in...June. Oh my. What a fail. Harharhar. Anyways, I will post something now, because I have lots of homework to do, so of course I will blog instead. After all, procrastination wins every time.

So, what to talk about. I have lots of things on my mind, but I'll just ramble. First of all, for all the people stressing over prom, I just want to remind you that it isn't a big deal! Whatever happens, you're all beautiful and loved so none of that matters. Yeah. That said...

Something else that doesn't matter? The SATs. Because, a standardized multiple choice test? Whatttt? Of course that doesn't measure your intelligence. I know we all get worried over this stuff; after all, I'm no exception to the average high schooler worried about college lalala. But when you're 60 years old and looking back on life, I'm sure you aren't going to be thinking, "Oh, all I can remember from my childhood is that time when I didn't get that writing multiple-choice question right on the SAT. Darn." Hehe. Well, I hope you won't at least, since that would mean you were a boring person with nothing else to think about. No offense, of course!

Here's a nice tip for you clumsy people like me who might accidentally knock over a glass of water on your computer in the future. If you do so, and it begins to sizzle and steam, that is bad. Turn off your computer immediately and unplug everything. Then take out the battery (at least for laptops) and flip the computer into an upside-down V and dry it as much as possible with a towel or something. Then let it dry for about 24 hours and do not turn it on for at least a day. Then, if it turns on, you got lucky and saved! If not, well, sorry. Hahahahaha. Just so you know. Not that it happened to me or anything...and not that my computer screen is now upside down and that when I press the "g" key, every window closes and the display freezes...ahem.

I read a funny story just now that this wonderful person named Allen Park showed me. It's delightful. So is he! http://www.woltermanns.com/misc/cookies_Adams.htm Check it out-- it's worth it! I loved it. It reminds you that it's the little things in life that count. And that if you just observe what's happening around you, you'll find out that life is filled with moments. Which reminds me...

So I went over to Nevada/Arizona/California/Utah over Christmas break. As in, the Grand Canyon and Bryce Canyon and Zion Canyon and Death Valley. Hahahahahaha. Oh right, and Las Vegas. But yeah. While I was in these places, I wrote down random little things that happened, and it really makes life more enjoyable when you notice these sorts of things. Here's a few snapshots of what I wrote:

December 25, 2010- 7 pm~ We were walking, lost, in Caesar's Palace. Las Vegas. We passed a sphinx statue. You know. The top is a naked woman, lion's body, all that goodness. A man in a black coat, wielding a matching beard, walks by it, pauses, reaches out with his hand, and squeezes...its nose. Not what you'd expect from Sin City, eh?

December 25, 2010- 9 pm~ we were walking down The Strip from the buffet to our hotel. The sky was dark, but the street was lit by all the hotels. Christmas music boomed from speakers. A man walked by carrying a toy poodle dressed in a red santa suit, hat and all. I urgently tapped my mom's shoulder, "Look!" and as he walked by, we both saw that the dog was wearing half-moon spectacles!

December 26, 2010- 7 pm~ drove back from Death Valley. saw some stars. spent most of the car ride with head craned backwards on the backseat in a painful position, a poor substitute for lying in the grass. strange how I see the most stars when I'm trapped in a car. deja vu from last time we were in Death Valley. Lines of car window are literally bars of a prison. Suddenly Las Vegas comes into view and literally eats the stars in the span of 1 second.

December 26, 2010- 10 pm~ driving back to Trump hotel. too many lights and ads related to naked women. sail past a complex of shops. one store is "Adult Entertainment Superstore." The one next to it is selling bridal gowns. So classy.

Yupppp. They might not be the most interesting entries, but I really liked doing it since it was a quick way to capture moments from the trip. And I would do it all the time, but I use the whole "I don't have time" excuse to be lazy. Hahahaha.
And I saw the sunrise for the first time on the trip! It was on Christmas morning in Bryce Canyon. See? I took pictures. Oh wait...I was going to post a picture except then I remembered it's on my computer. The broken one. Argh!

And I can't figure out how to move pictures around the entry. Or else I would be putting random pictures all over this thing to make it look more interesting. But they all just stay at the top of the page.

Hmmmmm.................................

I had something very important to say, but I forgot! Oh well. That's all for now then!

Oh and I like to say "c'est la vie" since I think it sounds sophisticated, and it's really the only French phrase I know. Hahahae.
Tata for now! Cheerio! Hasta luego! Ciao!

Smile! You're beautiful and loved.
