The tinkling tunes of the ice cream truck reaches our ears as it passes.
You drown in the humidity and heat as soon as you step outside.
Splashes and shrieks of people at the pool ring through the streets.
Catchy pop songs blast from every radio station (Lady Gaga...).
Summer has finally arrived.
And so has my blog! On the site that is the reason for all the wasted time in my life, Facebook, the links to many other blogs appeared on people's statuses (stati?) and info boxes. Of course I clicked, having nothing else to do with my time, and immediately found myself immersed in hilarious and intriguing posts written by others. Now, I doubt many people will ever find my page, let alone read my thoughts or care if they do, but, nevertheless, I think this could be good for me. I have lots to say. Hehe.
So in this first post of mine, I want to talk about something that one of my good friends brought to my attention yesterday. She wrote an email to me and in it was the following: "Have you ever thought about the word happy? And what it means to you? And what you feel like when you're happy?"
Happiness. It's not anything we can just automatically take for ourselves, or else everyone would always be happy. No, you know what? That's false. I believe that in actuality, happiness is something that is always there, easy for everyone to have, but we're all just too caught up in the bad side of life to look at the good one, which would make us always happy. I believe that happiness is all in the way we view life. And in the small things that make us view life a little differently and make our own lives a little more brighter.
But really...what holds us back from being happy? It's often ourselves but not always. But who has the right to decide wh
at makes you happy and what doesn't? Who has the right to decide if you are allowed to be happy today? Hmmmm. It's something to think about. If you're reading this, smile right now. And ask yourself, "Am I happy?" If you're not, figure out what makes you happy and put it into act. Because everyone deserves to be happy (unless that happiness comes at the expense of others). Something I often do when I'm stressed is to look outside. Nature often makes me happier. Especially the sky.Anyways...summer makes me happy! No pressure, no worries, nothing that makes me miserable. And that's that.
